Energy Audits & Surveys
The starting point for all our energy efficiency work, energy audits and surveys are investigations of site energy use aimed at identifying measures for cost savings, energy savings and reductions in environmental emissions. They provide the information needed to make decisions on which are the most cost effective energy saving measures for your property.

Energy audits and surveys are an essential part of the effective control of energy costs and should be undertaken regularly, typically every three to five years. All organisations, regardless of size, need to satisfy themselves that they are getting good value from their expenditure on energy. Audits and surveys, combined with routine monitoring, provide the vital information needed to ensure that energy is managed properly.
Nevertheless, financial rewards are normally the underlying reason for implementing energy efficiency measures. Every pound saved on energy costs could increase profits directly by the same amount. Even organisations operating efficiently can expect a survey to identify potential energy cost savings of up to 10%. Cost savings of over 60% have been achieved at sites where the potential had not previously been recognised. Such savings are usually obtained with payback periods of less than three years. A CIBSE study of a sample of 4331 energy surveys showed that average savings of 21% of each site’s energy bill were identified. The average payback period for recommendations was 1.5 years, providing an excellent opportunity for investment.
